BMD partners present at the EGU General Assembly 2026
BMD was recently part of the European Geosciences Union (EGU) General Assembly that took place between 3 and 8 May 2026 at the Austria Center Vienna.
Research on FAIR Digital Objects (FDOs) and data space concepts around governance, licensing, and provenance tracking was presented on 7 May. Their talk titled “Integrating biodiversity in Situ data, Earth observation and stakeholder engagement - from machine- to policy-actionability”, discussed BMD’s role in EU’s Biodiversity Strategy for 2030 (part of the European Green Deal) and how the project implements the FDOs in order to bridge the gap between the practical needs of stakeholders, like data-driven decision-making, and the technical capabilities of the Green Deal ecosystem.
